10 Best Christmas Movies | Most Loved, Top Christmas Movies of All Time

10 Best Christmas Movies - The Definitive List...

There are many lists out there for the "10 Best Christmas Movies", or the "Top 10 Christmas Movies", etc. these days, but many, many of them are mainly the opinion of the writer who put them together.

On this page are gathered the all-time most looked-for, most loved and most purchased Christmas movies of all time, researched and rated by general popularity and ratings.

************************************

1.  Miracle on 34th Street

One of the most classic movies of all time, Miracle on 34th Street. Theme: A young girl named Susan has some doubts about Mr. Kringle aka Santa Claus. However, after meeting with Santa in a department store, the miracles start to happen...

2. It's a Wonderful Life

The second in line (a very close second I might add) - It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. This movie truly brings about the spirit of Christmas, reminding us all how important we are in life, and what we have to be thankful for.

Available formats:

3. White Christmas (Bing Crosby)

Bing Crosby's White Christmas is one of the most romantic Christmas films of all time. This is truly a favorite of many - and with the new Anniversary Edition it has a much better picture than the original or copies and versions to come out after.

Available formats:

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Charlie Brown Christmas might be considered just about everybody's favorite Charlie Brown movie! The Christmas tree in itself makes the whole movie worthwhile!  =)   Snoopy's ice skating is another entertaining factor!

This movie is definitely worthy of being added to the 10 Best Christmas movies ever.

A great Christmas movie for kids and entire families to watch together.

Available formats:

5. Scrooge

The Christmas movie "Scrooge" is not only a classic - it's truly a lesson in life! How to be the grouchiest and most cold blooded human on the face of the earth? Well -- no, the real lesson is why it is important to treat others with the respect and care that they deserve.  A wonderful theme for Christmas and remembering those we love.

Available formats:

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

There are a couple of versions of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the one from 1966 and the more recent version from 2000 with Jim Carey. It's hard to make a decision on which one is better but they're both basic on the classic story from Dr. Seuss. (As a note, it's my opinion that the original version is a bit more "kid friendly". =))

Available formats:

7. Christmas in Connecticut

Chrismas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck is one of the most searched for classic "Christmas Oldies" around. Theme: Elizabeth (played by Barabara Stanwyck) is living a "tad bit of a lie" as a writer, when she tells the world of what a lovely home and household she keeps for her husband and children when in fact...

An amusing and romantic story line, and a wonderful movie for Christmas time.

Available formats:

8. Scrooged

The movie "Scrooged" (not to be confused with "Scrooge") is also proving out to be one of the most loved movies ever. This is the (sort of - 1988) modern-day version of "Scrooge" with the same basic story line, but with a completely different setting and some amazingly funny scenes. Billy Murray plays the part well and adds more than a little bit of spice to the story!

Available formats:

9. Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Here is one of many animated Christmas classics in a series that feature Burl Ives. These are some of the most loved movies ever - with the Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie taking the lead (of course!).

This movie is available as a single movie, as well as being combined with others in a package DVD set (which is my personal choice).

Available formats:

10. A Christmas Carol

The movie "A Christmas Carol" is the third movie in 10 Best Christmas Movies list that deals with the Ebenezer Scrooge story of Christmas past, present and future. However, this version of the movie was made during the times of WWII, and the acting is not only good - it's actually quite amazing! "Scrooge" in this movie is played by Alastair Sim, and it is truly an amazing performance.

Available formats:

This list of the 10 Best Christmas movies was not put together lightly - when searching for these movies, great care was taken to not allow personal preferences to enter the picture. These are simply the movies that most people are looking for the most during Christmas-time as some of the best films to move us all into the Christmas spirit!

Happy Holidays - and "God Bless Us Every one."  =D
